This is the view from the top deck. Hundreds of boats to our right and left. Boats which are ready, start pushing their way between other boats to get out. Bumping into each other. With all the engines going at the same time in such a small space of water, the sound was a roar. The air was filled with diesel fumes that burnt your nose. The otherwise beautiful water was covered with a slime sheet of oil from the diesel exhaust.
See the boat with the kayaks on the top deck? We noticed that some boats had kayaks while others had life boats. Ours had neither. We were told that we'd be getting our kayaks at a 'floating' village later - no explanation was given why we didn't have life rafts.
